Prayer of Confession From Feasting on the Word
Merciful God, we confess that we have not lived as your faithful children.
We have kept silent in the midst of prejudice and hatred. We have been idle in the
face of violence and injustice. We have not been a light to the nations, and our lives
have not revealed your glory. Forgive us, gracious God. Repair the ugliness of our
sin and restore in us your beautiful grace; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
CHILDREN’S PROGRAM
This morning we are going to tell the story of the birth of Jesus as told by the
gospels of Luke and Matthew, AND as told by you! We ask that you listen
for the following words to be spoken within the story, and to respond as written:
Shepherds Yo, Sheep!
Sheep Baa!
Night Silent night, holy night (sung with piano accompaniment)
Angel Hallelujah! Hallelujah! (sung with piano accompaniment)
Offertory Music: "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Harp Song" Rosa VanHeest
As we watch and wait for Christ's coming, we light Advent candles of hope, peace, joy, and love, remembering the promises of God with prayer.
