Kalamazoo First Presbyterian Church has a long and rich history of music making. We celebrate the love of God through Christ by presenting music of all eras, celebrating the diversity of voices from many eras and cultures. Music for Sunday services and other events is a blend of classical, contemporary, and popular–from Cherubini to Cash, Dittersdorf to Dylan, and beyond.
Supported by a splendid Cassavant organ, our vocal and handbell choirs and soloists are regularly augmented by guest professional musicians from the area.
Through our Choral Scholars program, we sponsor young singers as choral section leaders, giving them an opportunity to work with musicians and singers both amateur and professional. Students are often featured during services, giving them a chance to get some performing experience in front of a loving and supportive audience.
Located on Bronson Park in downtown Kalamazoo, we are a premier location for events yearlong: New Year’s Fest, weddings and funerals, concerts and other performances. We host WMU’s Choral Christmas Concert, Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra chamber music concerts and much more.
