Every day, neighbors come to our door, or call the church looking for a little help, a little hope. Often, they are working with a social agency, like Ministry with Community, ISK, or Urban Alliance. These organizations are limited in resources, so they tell folks to call the churches to cobble together the funds they need. We meet these needs, as much as we can, through our Pastor’s Discretionary Fund which is entirely funded by our Christmas Eve offerings.
Need has been great this year, and our fund is completely depleted. We have helped folks pay security deposits on new apartments, avoid eviction or repossession on a vehicle, pay fines that prevented them from receiving services they desperately needed, prevented utility shut-offs, and even helped a grieving neighbor bury her partner.
Please, help us help our neighbors and give generously to the Christmas Eve offering this year!
