From this day, all generations will call me blessed:
For God has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
RESPONSE
Cantor 2: God has shown mercy on those who fear him in every generation.
God has shown the strength of his arm; he has scattered the proud in their conceit.
RESPONSE.

God has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.

mercy; The promise God made to our ancestors, to Abraham and his children, forever.

Second Reading Mark 1:1-8 New Testament p. 34
For the word of God in scripture, for the word of God among us,
for the word of God within us,
Thanks be to God.
In This Place Daniel Meyer
There is a welcome for the weary;
There is a rest for it is here we
Find the power of our family’s healing love;
For as Christ has welcomed all by grace,
There is a welcome in this place.
There is healing for the hurting;
There is a balm, for it is certain
That our God is here to heal;
For as God has healed us all by grace,
There is a healing in this place.
There is a comfort for our sorrow;
There is a hope for each tomorrow.
God’s compassion reaches to our needs,
For as Christ brings comfort through God’s grace,
There is a welcome, there is a peace in this place.

Anthem If You Love Me Thomas Tallis
If you love me, keep my commandments, and I will pray the Father,
And he shall give you another comforter;
That he may abide with you forever, even the spirit of Truth,
Even the spirit of Truth.
Anthem New Every Morning Is the Love Gary James
New every morning is the love our wakening and uprising prove;
Through sleep and darkness safely brought, restored to life and power and thought.
New mercies, each returning day, around us hover while we pray;
New perils past, new sins forgiven, new thoughts of God, new hopes of heaven.
If on our daily course our mind be set to hallow all we find,
New treasures still, of countless price, God will provide for sacrifice.
Old friends, old scenes, will lovelier be, as more of heaven in each we see;
Some softening gleam of love and prayer shall dawn on every cross and care.
The trivial round, the common task, will furnish all we ought to ask:
Room to deny ourselves, a road to bring us daily nearer God.
Only, O Lord, in thy dear love, fit us for perfect rest above;
And help us, this and every day, to live more nearly as we pray.
Anthem I’ll Fly Away Traditional American
Some glad morning when this life is over, I'll fly away
To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory, I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away
Just a few more weary days and then I'll fly away
To a land where joy shall never end, I'll fly away
I'll fly away, oh, Glory, I'll fly away
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away
