Michael studied voice performance at Western Michigan University. He holds two levels of certification through the American Guild of Organists (SPC, CAGO) as well asa Certificate in Church Music from the Anglican Diocese of Salisbury.

 While Director of Music at Immanuel Lutheran in Kalamazoo, Michael coordinated a now-annual neighborhood hymn festival joining Lutheran, Methodist, Reformed, and non-denominational congregations. 

 “Sharing excellent music, highlighting important histories, and developing meaningful liturgy is what I’m most passionate about. I’m so grateful to be embraced by this community which has a strong culture of all three,” Michael said.
