This year, the 18th year of the Hope Garden, we planted seedlings of tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, okra, eggplant and cabbage. We planted seeds of squash, beans, cucumbers and sweet corn. In 2025 we harvested about 2,400 pounds of produce with the majority going to Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes. The harvest for 2023 was over 5,000 pounds of produce. Squash bugs have recently made their home in our garden affecting the production. We till, plant and harvest vegetables on about one-third of an acre.
